Our Headquarters

Gold LEED Certified

Background

ITD HQ was a two year project to transform an old bank building into a modern workspace. It was not an easy task. Our historic building, which was built in 1950 as a bank, needed extensive upgrading. It would take a lot of planning and effort to turn the old bank building into what it is today.

Our Goal

Our goal was to create a beautiful, modern workspace where our teams could innovate and collaborate in a environmentally-friendly building. So, many of the design and construction decisions were made to get the building Gold LEED Certified. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the most widely used green building rating system in the world. Available for virtually all building types, LEED provides a framework for healthy, highly efficient, and cost-saving green buildings. LEED certification is a globally recognized symbol of sustainability achievement and leadership.

The LEED certification is based on five categories: Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency, Energy and Atmosphere, Materials and Resources, and Indoor Environmental Quality. Buildings are awarded points based on sustainable efforts within the categories, earning a higher certification with more points.

Even the design of the spaces was done with the environment in mind.  For example, all the lights in ITD HQ are LEDs, from the ceiling lights all the way to the desk lamps.  Recycled materials were used in the creation of the hanging dividers you see in this photo.  The stripes and colors in them come from recycled magazines.
